Join us for an unforgettable day on the water as we tackle one of the most iconic paddles in Ontario: the Barron River through the spectacular Barron Canyon. Located in the Achray wilderness of the east side of Algonquin Provincial Park, this route takes you between towering 100-meter cliffs that make you feel incredibly small in the best way possible. On August 5, 2024, Leslie, Trevor, Elizabeth, and I set out to explore this prehistoric landscape together. Our journey began with a scenic approach through the calm waters of the Barron River as we slowly transitioned into the heart of the canyon. Once inside, we spent our time looking up in awe at the massive granite cliffs that define this unique geological fault. While the weather didn't stay perfectly dry, the passing rain only added to the atmosphere of the canyon, making the ancient rock faces glisten and the air feel incredibly fresh. It certainly didn't slow us down, and the misty views only made the scale of the canyon feel more epic. It was a classic Canadian paddling day shared with great friends in one of the most beautiful spots in the park. Enjoy coming along for the ride, or throw it on for some relaxing sleep sounds!
