In the Swiss alps when the world turns white, there is still a train crossing forests, tunnels and bridges that will inspire you to reach your destination. We took the incredible adventure of travelling from Andermatt to Chur in Switzerland and back within the same day. Our Glacier express train was at 12:00PM from Andermatt. We started from our Airbnb in Brig, Switzerland in the morning and reached Andermatt at 11:30 AM. We were not able to find even a single parking slot for our car. After searching a lot to an almost panic state, we found a parking place which was 7-8 mins away from the train station. After parking our car at 11:50 AM, we ran all the way to the train station and finally made it at 11:58, just within time. Pheeww! Our train started at 12:00 PM from the town of Andermatt, 1437m above sea level. The train went through some of the most incredible landscapes and mountain villages covering the Oberalp pass, which is the highest point in the journey. We reached the town of Chur at 02:30 PM. On the way back, we took the Matternhorn Gothard Bahn to Andermatt, which surprisingly turned out to give us more picturous views than we had seen from within the Glacier express itself, due to its openable windows and the sunset vibe. We reached Andermatt at 05:00 PM in the evening from where we headed back to our Airbnb. What a day!
