Welcome to Part 1 of my walking adventure across the stunning Flamborough Headland in early November! 🍂 In this video, I start at the historic Danes Dyke Nature Reserve, a magnificent ancient defensive earthwork that stretches across the headland. From the wooded reserve, I head inland across open fields, making my way to the heart of the headland: Flamborough Village. After passing through the quaint village, I loop back across the farmland to meet the dramatic chalk cliffs once again. My journey then takes me along the cliff-top path as I head north towards the picturesque and sheltered cove of South Landing. This is where the video concludes, ready for Part 2! About the Headland: The Flamborough Headland is a spectacular chalk peninsula known for its dramatic white cliffs, unique geology, and importance as a nesting site for thousands of seabirds. It’s a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Key Locations in this Video: Danes Dyke: A massive, V-shaped earthwork dating back to the Iron Age, creating a natural defensive boundary across the neck of the headland. It is now a beautiful nature reserve of woodland and grasslands. Flamborough Village: A charming, traditional Yorkshire fishing village with a rich history and a prominent lighthouse nearby. It provides a lovely contrast between the open countryside and the rugged coastline. South Landing: A sheltered beach and cove popular with local fishing boats and visitors. It is home to the Flamborough Lifeboat Station and is a great spot to appreciate the rugged beauty of the cliffs. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe to catch Part 2! 📍 Route Information: Starting Point: Danes Dyke Nature Reserve Turning Point: Flamborough Village End Point (in this video): South Landing #FlamboroughHead #YorkshireCoast #DanesDyke #SouthLanding #CoastalWalk #YorkshireWalks #HikingUK #FlamboroughVillage #NationalNatureReserve #EarlyNovember #ChalkCliffs #WalkingVlog
