Want to know what it's like to ride the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad (GSMR)? Here's your chance to take a virtual ride. Nestled just over Tennessee's Great Smoky Mountains, in the hills of North Carolina, is a the little town of Bryson City. Home to the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. In this video we hop aboard the railroad's steam engine 1702 on the Nantahala Gorge Excursion. This was an amazing fall trip! We didn't quiet catch the peak of the leaves changing colors but we got to see them in the early stages. Experience what the trip is like as we take you from the parking lot through the Appalachian mountains around Fontana Lake to the Nantahala Outdoor Center and back to the Bryson City Depot. This round trip is approximately 4 hours. Stay tuned to the end and check out their model railroad in their museum. Their large display is O-gauge with some smaller HO and a G-Scale displays. They have an amazing amount of really old to newer O-Gauge trains on display. If you look close you can see them in the display cases in the background. We didn't catch much of it on video but they do have a great gift shop attached to the museum. This is a great family trip or if you just like an adventure on your own!
