Positive Approach to Dementia Care - Carers Session

Kate and Kathy from ‪@thriveagedcare‬ provide a session for carers, discussing practical tips to adapt carer approach for improved interactions and connections for people living with dementia. Kate and Kathy are both trained in Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Dementia Care and talk about changes happening in the brain for the person living with dementia and how these changes affect their sensors, ability to take in and process information from their environment. This session offers practical tips to adapt their approach to better support people living with dementia, through use of visual, verbal and tactile cues. These are based on ‪@teepasnowvideos‬. This session provides tips and advice to carers living with a person with dementia and also for carers in health, residential aged care or supporting people living with dementia in the community.
