MEDIA RELEASE: Second Arrest made in connection with the Death Investigation on Florence Avenue The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office made a second arrest in connection with the Death Investigation on Florence Avenue. On February 27, 2026, at 1:27 p.m., the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office H.E.A.T Unit with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, took twenty-nine-year-old Malik Mikeal Jenkins of Macon into custody. Jenkins was wanted in connection with the death of Shavis Adams on February 21, 2026. Jenkins was spotted at the intersection of Pio Nono Avenue and Ell Street, driving a U-Haul when deputies initiated a traffic stop. Jenkins was taken into custody and transported to the Criminal Investigation Division. After further investigation, Jenkins was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where he was referred out to a medical facility for a pre-existing medical condition. On March 2 , 2026, Jenkins was transported back to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Malik Jenkins has been charged with Murder. He is currently being held without bond. Investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME. February 27, 2026 Media Release Arrest made in connection with Death Investigation on Florence Avenue “With the arrest of Jeremi Hill, someone has been held to account for each one of the senseless murders this week. We have been relentless in our efforts to bring justice for each of these victims. To be clear, guns should never be used to settle petty arguments. But when they are, we will be coming for you.” Sheriff David J. Davis. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with the Death Investigation on Florence Avenue. On February 27, 2026, at 9:11 a.m., the US Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force with assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, took thirty-one-year-old Jeremi Devontrey Hill of Macon into custody from a residence in Americus Georgia. Hill was wanted in connection with the death of Shavis Adams on February 21, 2026. Hill was transported back to Bibb County to the Criminal Investigation Division. After further Investigation, Hill was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Jeremi Hill has been charged with Murder. He is currently being held without bond. This investigation is still active, pending additional charges. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office thanks the US Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the apprehension of Jeremi Devontrey Hill.
