The Fremont Canyon Power Plant sits at the base of steep ravines in Wyoming's North Platte River canyon. When 60-year-old rockfall protection systems needed replacement, the location created absolute constraints: barriers behind the plant were accessible only through one steep ravine, with no helicopter access due to power lines. This project required installing five new rockfall barrier systems, including a custom-engineered lower barrier directly behind the facility, and removing 700 cubic yards of accumulated debris from an inaccessible location.
