Heather Lake | Fun Hike to a Beautiful Lake | Trail Improvements | Washington State

Heather Lake is a wonderful hike that will please all types of hikers. It's a moderate not too hard, not too long trek and the payoff is absolutely worth it. There's a lot of rocks & thick roots to traverse on this hike. So bring your good balance and make sure to have good hiking shoes. This is our 3rd time hiking this trail and the recent trail improvements are fantastic. It is compacted gravel with wooden staircases. A big thank you to our trail workers! The first half of the trail is well-maintained, however the second half of the the trail is more difficult. Go slow, watch where you put your feet and definitely recommend hiking poles. Heather Lake is really amazing with 360 view. Picturesque rock faces surrounding the lake. The area provides hikers with plenty of good seats to take breaks from the hike and even have a picnic, a dip, or a swim there. You'll want to bring a swimsuit. The lake itself is serene, clear and peaceful. Highly recommend checking this place out!
