This version is posted because of greatly superior sound quality. The University of Illinois Jazz Band was one of only a few notable college big bands in the 1960’s, winning critical praise and numerous competitive awards. Ron Dewar was the star soloist. In 1968 and 1969, The United States Dept. of State sponsored several extended tours of Sweden and Eastern Europe and The Soviet Union.
