This is the state where our bodies feel calm and safe, our nervous systems settle, and our brains are ready to learn. Children are introduced to the idea that when we feel calm on the inside, our bodies and brains can take in new information more easily. 🧠 What We Learn in This Class We explore how strong emotions—especially anger—can affect the body and the nervous system.Together, we watch a short music video from Sesame Street called “Mad.” As we watch, children are invited to notice: How anger shows up in the body Changes in breathing, muscles, and energy Physical signals that tell us we might need support This observation helps children begin to connect feelings with body sensations in a safe, non-judgmental way. 🌬️ Practicing Nervous System Regulation After watching and reflecting, we review and practice gentle ways to help calm the nervous system, including: Breathing practices Slow, mindful movement Rest and relaxation Noticing what helps our bodies feel safe Watching, resting, or participating at a child’s own pace is always welcome. 🏫 Helpful for: Classrooms and school settings Counselors and therapy spaces Parents and caregivers at home Calm transitions or emotional check-ins Liberation Youth Yoga offers gentle, inclusive yoga and mindfulness practices that help children move and breathe through stress—so they can remain calm on the inside when life feels chaotic on the outside.
