Apple's Xcode 26.3: Update Claude Code for Opus 4.6 & Codex for GPT 5.3 Codex

Xcode 26.3 RC ships with Claude Code 2.1.14 but the latest is 2.1.32. One month is a lot in the AI world. In this video I show you how to update both the Claude Code and Codex binaries to get access to Opus 4.6 and GPT 5.3 Codex. For Claude: run `claude update` then copy from ~/local/bin/claude to ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/Coding Assistant/Agents/Versions/26.3/claude Update `settings.json` to set the model to `claude-opus-4-6`. Make sure you select "default" in Xcode settings under Anthropic. For Codex: if you installed via Homebrew cask, run `brew install --cask codex` then copy the binary to the codex folder. Restart Xcode to see GPT 5.3 Codex in the model dropdown. Note: Xcode will prompt you to "update" Claude Agent - clicking Get reverts you to the older bundled version.
