In this tutorial, I’m sharing how I created a bloom pour using a cell activator made with powder pigment instead of pre-made acrylic paint. This technique is not about being better than traditional methods, but about exploring a different way to create cells using powder pigment and understanding how it behaves compared to acrylic paint. Whether you’re new to bloom pours or experimenting with alternative materials, I hope this tutorial gives you ideas you can apply to your own artwork. 💫 Supplies Used Base Paint: Tricorn Black by Sherwin Williams Color To Go (House Paint) Cell Activators: Black - Oxide Black Amsterdam Mixed 2 parts Australian Floetrol to 1 Part Paint Aquamarine Iridescent - 1 teaspoon of pigment to 2 teaspoons of MinWax wood conditioner to wet/disperse the pigment the 2 tablespoons of Australian floetrol.
