Nawaz Sharif's Muslim League is expected to be the overall winner in the poll, but may have to form a coalition government. However, ousted Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto is likely to win her seat in a Sindh district - one of 217 National Assembly seats up for grabs on Monday. Pakistan's presidency in the capital, Islamabad. The streets lacked politicians campaigning on Sunday - the day before the election for seats in Pakistan's National Assembly, or parliament. Candidates are banned from campaigning on the day before elections. On Monday morning, election officials will prepare ballot boxes like this one - ensuring they are empty and sealed to prevent fraud. The election was called after the President dismissed Benazir Bhutto as Prime Minister last November for alleged corruption. But the former premier has claimed the results of Monday's poll have already been rigged and that she will reject the result if she loses. Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Muslim League are widely expected to be the overall winners in Monday's elections, but they may need to form a coalition. Sharif has courted Ghinwa Bhutto - the widow of Benazir Bhutto's murdered brother Murtaza - and the leaders of other small parties opposed to the former prime minister. Campaigning may now be outlawed for Monday's poll, but posters urging the electorate to take advantage of their vote are still on display. Benazir Bhutto's husband, former Investment Minister Asif Ali Zardari, has been jailed and charged with murder in connection with Murtaza Bhutto's killing. How that will affect his wife's chances in Monday's race for the National Assembly remains to be seen.
