Stewards Reward - Windermere Caravan & Camping in the Lake District

We spent four nights at the Windermere Caravan & Camping Club site for an end-of-season rally organized by the Lakeland DA, held to reward everyone who had volunteered as stewards on their rallies this year. The site itself is large and divided into several areas, all of which are tidy, well laid out, and carefully maintained. There are multiple facilities blocks, each one modern, spotlessly clean, and with plenty of hot water. Despite the name, the Windermere site is actually around 8.5 miles from Windermere town. On-site you’ll also find the Whistling Pig pub, which serves excellent food alongside a wide selection of drinks— a welcome bonus after a day out. Some of the background music featured in our stay was kindly provided by Dave Brons, a British guitarist known for his unique blend of Prog Rock with a Celtic symphonic twist.
