It's a recipe she learned from her sister-in-law Pina who was also born and raised in the same town as her Castropignano, Italy. These Torrone's are a family favorite especially during Christmas. The chocolatte she makes taste just like Nutella. They are delicious and so easy to make. God Bless. #Torrone #TorroneRecipe #ItalianCookies #HomemadeTorrone #NonnaPaolone #ClubCastropignano #ItalianRecipe #Castropignano #ItalianDessert #christmascookies #hashatit Search for the #hashtags on www.hashatit.com INGREDIENTS: 16 oz (2 Cups) Roasted Hazelnuts (Nonna used about 2 ½ cups) 16 oz (2 Cups) Roasted Almonds (Nonna used about 2 ½ cups) 500 grams of Marshmallows 500 grams (16 oz) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips 10 to 11 Tablespoon of Unsalted Butter 2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract 5 Wafer Sheets In a cooking pot add Marshmallows, Chocolate Chips and Butter. Turn heat to Simmer. Let it melt completely (about 15 minutes). Once everything is completely melted add the Almond Extract and then the Hazelnuts and Almonds. Mix everything together. Remove from heat and spread quickly evenly on the Wafer Sheets. Let sit out for about 12-14 hours with heavy weight sitting on top of the Torrone. After 12-14 hours cut and place in refrigerator or in Freezer. May stay in freezer for over 1 year. Defrost before serving.
