Well finally took the plunge. 380 bottles, 1/3 primed with brown sugar, 1/3 primed with white sugar and 1/3 not primed at all. Took 6 hours in total. The enolmatic filler was really good in the end. The hand capper was useless when used on this quantity. we will get a better one for next time. The cider......2nd barrel is brilliant. you can taste that its been made with garden eating apples. There's a fresh fruity taste that tells you its from an orchard and reminds you of fresh crunchy gala's or similar. Bloody good to be honest compared to the first barrel which oxidised too much and light years away from last year. These bottles will allow some of the cider to be stored for longer than BintheB and the barrels so now I've hopefully got some vintage stock for next year (as long as I dont go through it!). A bit cooked at the end of the video on 4 glasses! 268000 bottled filled is a penny a bottle DOH! I dont think so, thats 26,800 bottles, hopefully it will run for that long! Sorry. less drinking, more cider making, its damn strong stuff!
