Assalamualaikum! My dear viewers, In this video I have made Tehri! Follow these easy tips and make some at your home! Ingredients used for making Tehri: Vegetables used: Cabbage (½ or ¼) Carrot (a stalk) Garlic (1-2 pieces) Ginger (approx: 100g) Peas (a cup) Potatoes (2-3 pieces) Onion (2-4 pieces) Note: All the vegetables used in this recipe can be altered and any vegetable can be added as per the linking and in any quantity. When choosing the vegetables you can put essentially anything you like! Key ingredients: Chicken (750 g) (optional for vegetable tehri) Basmati Rice (750 g) Mustard Oil (as per the requirements) Cooking Oil (as per the requirements) Ginger Garlic paste (as per the requirements) Spices used: Red chilli powder (2 teaspoons) Turmeric powder (2 teaspoons) Coriander powder (2 teaspoons) Ground black pepper (½ a small spoon) Cumin powder (1 teaspoon) Garam masala powder (1 teaspoon) Salt (to taste) Bay leaves (2 pieces) Water (as per requirements) Dry spices used: Bay leaves (2 pieces) Cloves (3 pieces) Black cardamon (1 piece) Cardamom (2 pieces) Star anise (2 pieces) Allspice/Cubeb pepper (8-10 pieces) Black cumin (a little amount) Cinnamon (a little amount) Other Ingredients: Food colouring (to taste) Water (as per the requirements) Recipe to make Tehri: First soak the rice and leave it to rest. Prepare a pressure cooker and pour in some mustard oil and after the oil is heated up put in the potatoes and saute it for some seconds then add the food colour and some salt and then pour in a cup of water and close the lid and let it for 2-3 whistles. After the potatoes have been boiled keep it in a separate container and then prepare the meat. In the same pressure cooker pour in some mustard oil and heat it up and after it is hot put in the chopped onions and saute it till it turns brown. The add the meat and saute it for a while, then add in the ginger garlic paste then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, ground black pepper, cumin powder, garam masala powder, salt, bay leaves, and mix it till all the spices have been mixed in the meat then add some water and close the lid for 3-4 whistles. Then take a small cauldron and put in some oil and saute all the vegetables, put in the rice after washing it and mix the rice well with the vegetables then add in the potatoes and mix it well then add in the meat with the gravy and mix it after that add some salt to taste and then add hot boiling water to cook the rice snd to bring it to a boil, mix it well and close the lid. When checking the rice, when it breaks easily without any effort and the rice looks erect then your tehri is ready to serve! Enjoy!
