An unprecedented triple-threat weather pattern is creating extreme conditions across the United States simultaneously. A dangerous severe weather outbreak is affecting over 17 million people from the ArkLaTex region through the Ohio Valley with hurricane-force straight-line winds reaching 75+ mph and a 10% tornado risk. The nocturnal timing makes this particularly deadly. Tomorrow, enhanced severe weather shifts to the East Coast with the Carolinas, Virginia, and southern Pennsylvania facing damaging 60-70 mph winds during the evening commute. A life-threatening blizzard is burying the Upper Midwest with snowfall rates of 2-3 inches per hour and 50-60 mph wind gusts creating zero visibility. Michigan's Upper Peninsula could see up to 41 inches of snow. Behind the system, an Arctic blast will drop Minneapolis temperatures 42 degrees below average with the freeze reaching as far south as Houston and New Orleans. Meanwhile, the Desert Southwest is experiencing a historic heat dome with Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada expecting triple-digit temperature records—the earliest on record. This creates a nearly 100-degree temperature difference across the country.
