Russian-born artist and photographer Anastasia Samoylova deconstructs climate and culture in Miami

Based in Miami, Russian-born visual artist and photographer translates Florida’s beauty and fragility amid climate vulnerability into rich visual narratives. Working between observational photography and studio practice, her art is directly influenced by her immediate landscape, yet beneath the surface, the multi-layered dialogues they carry reflect the breadth of her experience – informed by her early years in Russia, and her experience as a first generation migrant in the USA. “I feel like I’ve always known what I’ve wanted to be,” says Samoylova.
