In this video, I share the process of creating decorative paper pulp boxes, made as a natural continuation of handmade Christmas ornaments. The idea for the boxes came from a simple question — how to package finished objects in a way that feels coherent with their form and character. Instead of using ready-made packaging, I decided to create the boxes by hand, using the same material, working at a similar pace, and focusing on the process itself. Paper pulp offers a lot of freedom when shaping forms and allows imperfections and texture to become part of the aesthetic. The video walks through each stage of the process — from choosing the base forms and defining the box size, through rolling out the paper pulp, building the walls and the lid, to drying, painting, and gentle decoration. This is a technique that can easily be adapted by changing the scale, colour, or surface finish. The boxes shown here are small, but the same approach works just as well for larger forms. They can be used as gift packaging, storage for small objects, or decorative pieces on their own. In this project, packaging is not an afterthought — it becomes an integral part of the object. This is an invitation to slow, mindful making, without pressure for perfection. If you enjoy working with paper, exploring form, and processes that allow you to slow down, this video is for you.
