🚩 Municipality in the province of Segovia, in the Autonomous Community of Castile and León Bercimuel has two neighborhoods, Barrio Chico and Barrio Grande. They are separated by the Arroyo de Valdelavaca stream. The Cañada Real Soriana Occidental (Western Soriana Royal Cañada) passes through the town. On its route through Segovia, it crosses the province from Ayllón to Villacastín. Transhumance passed through here, when flocks sought the good pastures of Somosierra and Guadarrama until they reached Ávila. Bercimuel, despite its small population, with only 36 inhabitants registered in the census in 2024, reached almost 500 in 1930. It must be said that Bercimuel was very important in the past, as it was once the head of an "Ochavo," a typical administrative and territorial division of Segovia, similar to the Sexmo, but which represents one-eighth of the Community of Villa y Tierra de Sepúlveda. Two notable people live in the town. Juan Martos Quesada, despite being originally from the province of Jaén, is the town's official chronicler, author of "Bercimuel. A town northeast of Segovia on the route of silence" and "Portrait of the town of Bercimuel in the 18th century." And Fernando Tomé. Born in the town, he is the founder and owner of the F. Tomé automobile company. 📍 Places to visit: Parish Church of Santo Tomás Apóstol ⛪ Streams of Valdelavaca and El Chorrillo 💦 Fountains of El Chorrillo, Carrecampo, and Fuente del Barrio Chico ⛲ El Crucero de Bercimuel 🗼 Peña Los Gurrieros 🏡 📸 Photo report at: https://vivetupueblo.es/segovia/berci... 🔗 Everything you need to know (what to do, where to eat or sleep, interesting facts, etc.) at: https://vivetupueblo.es/segovia/berci... 💻📲
