Snak the Show (Eps. 306) - with Bonnie Anderson, Andrea Lyons & Jorge Molina. snak@snaktheshow.com ___________________________ Jeff Burrows I got my rocker shirt on. Oooh. We are the coolest talk show right now. This episode is going to be one hundred percent rock and roll. I was listening to Temptation. They play a clip of Temptation from the Tea Party. All morning. So I'm crazy. Talking about Jeff Burrows. From the Tea Party. Drummer. Extraordinaire. They've been nominated for 22 MuchMusic video awards. They won 6. 14 Juno nominations. They're album Triptych, was listed on Hard Rock Magazine as one of the 500 greatest rock and metal albums. He was also in Crash Karma. Which had members from I Mother Earth, Our Lady Peace and Zygote. Who's going to introduce him today? I don't know I think I should. Maybe I should. You want to? We are so excited to have drummer extraordinaire, rock and roller, best hair in the biz. Jeff Burrows. Yeah. Okay you are absolutely right. That is the best hair in the business. Haha. What was the spark that made you want to be a drummer or get into music? I always knew my dad was a drummer when he was young. The Fabulous Pharaohs. They played a lot of Motown gigs. They played with Smokey Robinson Stevie Wonder. And I found a set of drums underneath my dad's workbench. He said no way. He got me practice pads and from there it just progressed. In grade seven is where I met Jeff Martin. He was in the church choir I was an altar boy and we started a band and we met Stuart in high school. Let's go back to probably your first video. They play a clip from Save Me from the Tea Party. Wow. Save me. Oh yes. That's off the first commercial album. With emi. That shirt that I was wearing there, that ended up being my wife's favorite pregnancy shirt for all three of our boys. It was super stretchy. This is out of left field. This is what you did with well let's just take a look. They play a clip of I Fought the Law from The Big Dirty Band. With Geddy and Alex and you've got your Rush shirt on. Like come on!! Could you imagine me seeing that in grade seven!! This is what's happening. I would be like what?!?! That was so much fun. I'm going to move on to play a clip from Crash Karma. They play a clip of Awake from Crash Karma. ? When we got together it really felt like a lifesaver for me. You weren't playing a lot, was still doing charity stuff but really miss the stage. It was a really good time. Right when that was happening, the Tea Party was getting back together. And I was like okay, what are we doing here. Just going to play one of the songs of new album. They play a xliof Beautiful from The Tea Party Sunshower album. I don't know if you knew that but that is about to be released as a single. That song harkens back to our high school era. Jeff's vocals surprise me all the time. He's such a good singer. They show the poster for the Jeff Burrows 24-hour drum Marathon for local charities. This is my sixteenth year. For my 24-hour drum Marathon. All these amazing artists join me for an hour or two. And I play from Midnight to the following the night. There's an admission and his rifles. My friends at Nickelback sent me a Nickelback signed guitar. Coming up for you. So you have a whole list of dates in June and July. I think there's going to be 17 to 20. Rehearsals start June 16th and our last date is August 6th. Jeff Burrows. Thank you so much. Nice to meet you guys. Thank you so much. Oh what a sweetie. Such a nice being human being.
