If your families water has very high mineral content due to excessive hardness, sodium or other mineral salts this can be remedied with a whole house or commercial reverse osmosis system. You might also need low mineral content water for an agricultural, commercial or industrial application. We offer FREE Shipping and discount pricing here, just follow this link. I always encourage families to learn about any water treatment equipment they’re considering for their family. A Commercial or Whole House Reverse Osmosis System is a large investment and it’s important you understand how it works. As water enters the RO system the water molecules pass through the membrane, but the minerals and other contaminants are not allowed to pass and are discharged through the waste water stream. The water that makes it through the RO membrane is called the product water and usually has around 95% to 99% of the dissolved minerals removed from it. It’s important to understand that an RO system employs cross filtration rather than standard filtration where the contaminants are collected within the filter media. With cross filtration, the solution crosses the filter, with two outlets: the filtered water goes one way and the contaminated water goes another way. To avoid build up of contaminants, cross flow filtration allows water to sweep away contaminant build up and allow enough turbulence to keep the membrane surface clean. I strongly suggest before proceeding with one of these systems that you have a complete water analysis done on the raw water, that way you know exactly what you’re starting with. If your mineral content or TDS is over 1000 ppm you should consider a whole house Reverse Osmosis system. This Whole House Reverse Osmosis Systems is only one part of your whole water treatment system. You need to understand that these water treatment systems will take up considerable space in your home. First is the pre treatment consisting of, in this case, a back washable carbon filter, a water softener and a 5 micron sediment pre filter. Next is the Commercial/Whole House RO, the holding tank(s), re pressurization system, UV and on to distribution. Please share this video • How Does a Commercial or Whole House Rever...
