Montana Wildlife at Old Moose Bones

The moose bones that keep on giving. From late September through early November there continued to be a lot of activity at these very old moose bones. The moose was killed in spring or summer of 2024 and the bones were frozen in the pond all last winter, so after the spring thaw, they were still smelly and attracted scavengers. However by September, the only animals chewing on the bones were grizzlies. The meat is long gone so the bears are literally just eating bones. Turn your sound up and you can hear them crunching. By September, coyotes were just using the old bones as a scent post, often peeing on them as they passed by. This video is a montage of my favorite clips during that period.
