A week in a 200 year old cottage | Galway, Ireland, January 2023🏡🐑🍄

Hi💕 From Jan 3rd-7th I visited Galway, Ireland, to explore the wonderful countryside. However, not only was the weather wet and windy most of the time, I actually got a stomach bug and felt very sick the first two days of the trip which restricted what we could do. Nevertheless, when I started feeling better, we were exploring the beautiful county Mayo and county Galway. We stayed in a 200-year-old converted barn/cottage in a village called Finny. The cottage experience was truly a dream. It was so quaint and cosy. The only downside was that the heating was the fire and two small plug-in electric radiators. Yet again it made the experience even more memorable since we learned how to start a fire and keep it from going out; which is a lot more challenging than you would expect! We visited villages like Cong where we saw the sixteenth-century monk fishing house, we also went to Galway city and ate the most delicious pasta at Trattoria Magnetti in Latin Street. Our favourite thing was being surrounded by the massive mountains near Finny (the Partry Mountains). I would love to go back during the summer to experience the countryside in a new setting :) Overall, I loved our trip! -Jess [spelling mistake at 5:00 it is meant to be January not December and spelling mistake at 7:26- we visited Westport not Wexford!!
