The holiday season is often framed as joyful, but for many it becomes a time of stress, exhaustion, and disconnection. In this episode of the Well For Culture Podcast, we return to an older understanding of time, one rooted in the land, the sky, and the body. I reflect on the Winter Solstice as a true turning point of the year: the shortest day, the return of light, and the deep relief our ancestors would have felt knowing longer days were coming. When we remember how closely our people lived in relationship with the seasons, it becomes clear why celestial events were honored, and why this season was meant for rest, reflection, and renewal. This conversation invites us to reframe the holidays, release unnecessary pressure, and reconnect with a slower, more nourishing way of moving through winter. Rest is seasonal. Light always returns.
