We can help you maximise throughput and identify operational problems in a desalter by measuring the emulsion level depth, and detecting any oil carryunder or water carryover Our diagnostics help you run your desalter as efficiently as possible. We measure the emulsion level depth accurately, so you have the confidence to adjust your chemical additions and fine-tune your mixing valves to maximise the amount of fluid that passes through. We pass our PhaseFinder™ system down the side of the desalter. By measuring changes in molecular makeup this enables the height of the emulsion phase to be determined. Using tracers, we can help you identify operational problems and maximize throughput by working out the fluid residence time and occurrence of oil carry under or indeed water carryover. In this example we introduce an oil soluble tracer chemical to the desalter and measure its intensity. By measuring the intensity again at the water outlets, we can work out the residence time and the occurrence of oil carryunder.
