The question of what occurs to individuals upon their physical death has perplexed humanity since the beginning of time. Unfortunately, apart from the revelation of God’s biblical truth as found in the pages of Scripture, it is an endless search of uncertain hopelessness. It is for this reason that the Bible has given us stories like that of the Rich Man and Lazarus, as found in Luke 16:19-31. Lazarus found himself in paradise upon his physical passing, which is also referred to as “Abraham’s bosom,” as per Luke 16:22. This was the place where departed Old Testament believers resided until the resurrection of our Lord. He has since transferred them to heaven as per Ephesians 4:8-10. See what other things this story can teach us in the first lesson of my series on salvation that I am re-recording with better sound quality. 00:00 The Rich Man and Lazarus 02:26 Opening Prayer 03:10 Introduction 04:09 What is this salvation from? 06:30 The Lake of Fire is a problem that should not be ignored 07:19 The example of the Rich Man and Lazarus 09:50 Death doesn't bring soul sleep, but begins an existence in new realm 10:40 The Rich Man and Lazarus both had a body after their death 11:25 Rejecting Christ as Savior cannot be reverse upon our physical death 12:18 Believers in heaven not permitted to communicate with the living here 13:34 Biblical ignorance is a choice from our own freewill 15:02 Everlasting torments will never end for the unbeliever 17:15 Conclusion 17:36 Closing Prayer Mario Velez, Th.M.
