Our journey begins with the heavy steel door of Vault 13 sealing behind us. After carefully crafting a character with world-class intellect but almost zero social skills, we find ourselves in a dark, rat-infested cave. A silent Overseer (due to some technical "deafness") gave us our marching orders: find a Water Chip or the Vault is doomed. The first few minutes were a lesson in survival. We fumbled with fists and knives before finally finding our rhythm with a Pistol. After clearing the rats and stepping out into the blinding sun of the Mojave, we discovered the harsh reality of the wasteland. The date is December 5, 2161, and the clock is ticking. Our first major threats weren't just rodents, but the dreaded Radscorpions. These armored terrors nearly ended the journey before it truly began, but through tactical use of our limited ammo, we pushed through. We eventually stumbled upon a traveling merchant caravan that led us to the settlement of Shady Sands. There, we met Aradesh, the leader of this community.
