"We recently had the opportunity to visit Wylder, an adventurous home away from home nestled on Tilghman Island, a small 3-mile island on the breathtaking Chesapeake Bay. The goal of this bayside retreat is to provide a space where guests can reconnect with nature and one another, and I can attest that it certainly delivers on that promise. Upon arrival, I was immediately captivated by the charm of the watermen's town surrounding the resort. It felt like the perfect retreat, offering a peaceful and rejuvenating atmosphere. Wylder boasts an expansive 9.5-acre property, featuring 50 hotel rooms primarily designed with outdoor access. What struck me as unique was the absence of public elevators or open lobbies, creating an intimate and private experience. The resort's commitment to guest safety and convenience was evident throughout my stay. They implemented touchless check-in and provided the option for remote room requests, ensuring a seamless and contact-free process. In these challenging times, it was reassuring to witness their dedication to maintaining a safe environment. One of the highlights of our visit was the abundance of outdoor space available at Wylder. It offered ample opportunities to immerse oneself in nature's beauty. Whether it was having a waterfront picnic on the lush lawn or at one of the well-placed picnic tables, or relaxing in the saltwater pool, I was able to enjoy the stunning surroundings while maintaining a comfortable distance from other guests and staff. For dining options, Tickler's Restaurant serves the freshest locally sourced seafood and delicious cocktails. We couldn't resist indulging in the mouthwatering Maryland crabs while overlooking the waterfront. The combination of the delectable cuisine and scenic views made for an unforgettable dining experience. In the evenings, we found solace in Wylder's inviting fire pit, where we could unwind and embrace the tranquility of the surroundings. Alternatively, we took advantage of the available kayaks, venturing out onto the bay and immersing ourselves in the serenity of the water. It was the perfect way to soak up the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay. Our experience at Wylder was nothing short of exceptional. The resort's commitment to providing an adventurous and nature-oriented retreat was evident in every aspect of our stay.
