Wednesday 22nd October saw me at Ribblehead where I recorded the Log train crossing Ribblehead Viaduct together with a railhead treatment train hauled by Class 70s. One of its wagons had a wheel flat! A few other working besides. There was a bright low sun really emphasising the beauty of the surrounding hills. The following day at Carlisle a nice variety of trains including a driver training run from Preston - using a Tamper! The class 56s were on the RHTT from Nunthorpe. One was very care-worn and its paintwork is really fading. I dare say it doesn't matter on rail head treatment trains, its the filthiest job, but is it a sign of their impending withdrawal? Apologies for not setting the green screen properly at the end. The times shown on clips are for guidance only and shouldn't be taken as definitive.
