This large rock with an arch worn over time is Elephant Rock (Batu Bolong). It is rarely dived as it sits open to the ocean and is subject to ripping currents, high swells, and boat traffic heading back and forth to Manta Point. I have only dived this site once, and this was it. The current was medium, and most of the marine life was below 20 meters. Inbetween Elephant Rock and the Penida coast, the bottom rises to shallower depths. This site does need to be explored more, but catching the ocean at the right time is complex and the currents can be unpredictable. Making this a rarely dived dive site. Nikon Drop-Off falls into the category of forgotten dive sites. On older dive maps of Nusa Lembongan/Nusa Penida, Nikon Drop-Off sometimes appears. Nikon Drop-Off is another site that requires more diving to get a complete understanding of the currents. I loved this site. It was full of fish life, and if you descend in the right area, it is not too deep, which gives you time to hang out with the fish. A strong surge down deep and a mild current made this an easy dive with many rewards. Malibu Point and Suana are rarely dived. They are both considerable distances for most dive shops to get to daily, plus they would require a petrol surcharge. Malibu Point is found in a bottle opener shaped bay. It is exposed to the open ocean and may experience powerful currents. Consequently, both the hard and the soft corals are low-lying with plenty of whip corals and marine life. The Suana dive site sits opposite a small fishing village of the same name. The beaches of Suana are packed with junkung, the traditional small fishing boats. The dive site is very similar to most Northern Sites of Nusa Penida, meaning the site consists of a long sloping reef open to the ocean with the occasion, coral outcrops and bommies.
