Rebecca Weiss and Mark Fuller, author and photographer, respectively, of “Birds of Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley”, will talk about ‘Moments in the Lives of Birds’. Fuller’s photographs will illustrate the beauty, charm and vulnerability of our local birds while Weiss will provide insight into crucial life stages gleaned from her in-depth research and years of experience as an expert birder. Rebecca Weiss is an Aspen birding guide, writer and naturalist who has been leading birding programs at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies for fifteen years. Mark Fuller has been a birder, naturalist, and photographer in the Roaring Fork Valley for over 40 years. Mark has taught ornithology and birding through Colorado Mountain College (CMC), Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) and the Independence Pass Foundation, and his photographs have appeared in many local and regional publications. Mark’s photographs in Birds of Aspen are all shot in the Roaring Fork River Valley. Each winter, ACES partners with Wilderness Workshop and Roaring Fork Audubon to co-host the popular Naturalist Nights speaker series, bringing a great line-up of experts to explore topics of the natural world with our community. Presentations are Wednesdays at 6 pm at the Third Street Center in Carbondale, CO, and Thursdays at 6pm at ACES at Hallam Lake, in Aspen, CO.
