How to Tap a Maple Tree to make Syrup! (Pt 1)

Tapping a Maple tree is fun and easy. This video is how to tap a maple tree to collect maple sap, to boil it down to syrup. We use 5 gallon buckets to do this with a very simple and inexpensive kit we got on amazon. You will need a drill with bit 5/16 size. Drill in 1.5in-2in deep on the south side of the tree and on an upward angle. Tap in the Spile, and run the hose down to the 5 gallon food grade bucket on the ground next to the tree.
