Following a triumphant return to traffic this year, an inaugural debut on the Chairman’s Train in April, a Summer spent working Saphos Trains and Steam Dreams excursions to Kingswear and its starring role at the West Somerset Railway Autumn Gala, with duties complete, GWR Castle Class 5029 'Nunney Castle' returned to Crewe today. LSL Class 20s 20096 + 20107 'Jocelyn Feilding 1940-2020' were sent from Crewe on Monday with a single Mk1 support coach to take the Castle from Bishops Lydeard to Crewe, and we catch them through Taunton, before picking up Tuesdays action as 5029 left Westridge shed and coupled up, before the 20s ran round ready to depart and head for the mainline, while LSWR T3 563 was in action working the 10.15 WSR service to Minehead. Minor delays ensued while the 20s ran round, and an additional WSR Mk1 was added to the T3 service, but after all the shunt moves, the consist headed for the mainline working the 5Z31 Bishops Lydeard WSR - Crewe H.S. while the T3 headed the delayed 10.15 off to Minehead.
