Day 1 of the Multiple Syndemics of Tuberculosis Symposium, held on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, brought together participants from across the globe for a powerful and collaborative start to this three‑day virtual event. Designed to unite researchers, clinicians, and partners working across disciplines, the symposium explored how tuberculosis intersects with broader health, social, and economic challenges, emphasising the importance of integrated approaches to care and survivorship. The first day focused on the intersections of tuberculosis with undernutrition, leprosy, smoking, and survivorship, alongside discussions on strengthening integrated screening and care across regions and health systems. These sessions offered valuable insights into the complex realities faced by communities affected by TB and highlighted opportunities for more coordinated, people‑centred responses. Speakers included Emily MacLean, Anneke Hesseling, Madhavi Bhargava, Karen Du Preez, Nikkita Joshua, Stephen Chambers, Romain Ragonnet, Christoph Lange, Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga, and Laura Olbrich. Our thanks to all speakers and the coordinating teams across partner institutions for their leadership and collaboration.
