Badaghagara dam or Sana MachhaKandana Dam as per the river's name is the major source of drinking water for keonjhar town. Being at a higher altitude then town it acts as gravitational storage tank and providers 75% of drinking water to keonjhar town. After visiting Badaghagra dam for 4 times, this is the first video. Plan was to make a single video including dam & waterfall but it became too long for single video. In the second part you will see the badaghagara waterfall. Badaghagra dam nestled deep inside forest about 3 km from national highway is a major tourist attraction for picnic & recreational activities. Waterfall in the downstream is also another attraction and people usually love to cover both places while visiting sana ghagara next to national highway. Dam has two main viewing points on right side it has a lord shiva temple dedicated to rameshwar mahadev, badaghara fall, picnic area & irrigational canal which is also source of badaghagara fall. On the left side there is the beautifully designed overflow spill ways & dyke road, overflow water flowing through it in monsoon adds to beauty of the place. There is road to this place but is partially blocked due to ongoing road work and is not in great shape at last section.
