A fun Halloween project with how to video for kids! Make your easy simple Halloween wreath. This video shows how easy it is, and uses recycled fabric and spooky decorations glued or tied on! A great way to recycle an old dressing gown, fleecy blanket, old bedding, etc! A great way for kids to craft and decorate for Halloween on a budget, costing very little to recycle if using items you have around the house. Materials needed: • Plastic Tube & Tape (or Wire Coat Hanger, or wire wreath shape) approx 30 cm • Old fabric in halloween colours • Scissors • Ruler • Halloween Decorations • Hot Glue Gun or wire Easy Steps: 1. Make or buy a circle shape approx. 30cm in diameter. You can make a circle wreath shape using plastic tubing or a metal coat hanger and shape into a circle. In the video, I'm using recycled plastic tubing and I taped it together to make a circle. 2. Cut up old fabric into 8 inch by 1 inch pieces / strips (approx). 21cm by 3cm. Don't worry if the fabric frays - this adds to the spooky look! Or purchase fabric of choice. Tip: You can recycle old bedding, clothes or blankets for this project. Fleece and flannel work great! Simply cut into 8 or 9 inch x 2inch pieces. I've cut up an old tiger onesie and used some old curtains. 4. One by one, tie the fabric pieces to your circle wreath shape. Tie fabric as if the 1st step of tying your shoe lace. (No need to knot it.) 5. Push the fabric close together as you go, turning in different angels, and keep tying on more fabric! Until you get around the whole circle. 6. Tie or glue on Halloween decorations of choice. If using a glue gun, adult supervision is needed! Enjoy! Perhaps add battery operated lights to your wreath! A lovely way to spend a morning or afternoon! Crafting with the kids is great for everyone and our health and wellbeing... so enjoy a little crafting time, for Autumn, or for the upcoming holidays!
