This record continues my theme of a few Parlophone personality videos It seems fitting that my first upload of 2026 should be a recording from 1926. Canadian Sydney Nesbitt's recording career was quite a short one from 1925-27. During this time he recorded for several labels in his own right and as an occasional dance band vocalist. His recording career appears to be something of a 'flash in the pan' compared to his pianist Charles (Charlie) Kunz. Here with one of his earliest label credits, was later a bandleader but is best remembered as a pianist with his famous piano medleys which sold well over many years. So unlike Sydney Nesbitt, yet he captured the spirit of the mid '20s with his cheerful songs which saw the Charleston at its height, indeed he evens mentions the dance on this recording. Sydney Nesbitt's recordings are seldom heard with "I've seen Isobel.." making its You tube debut. Recorded c. September 1926. ** Transfer and video by Jonathan Holmes **
