Grape Days 2024 | BRI Research Winery’s impact on your vineyard | Ngarita Warden

As a viticulturist or grower, one of the most important documents used in the growing season is the New Zealand Winegrowers’ Vineyard Spray Schedule. 96% of New Zealand’s vineyard-producing area is SWNZ-certified, and over 90% of the wine produced in NZ is processed in SWNZ-certified facilities. An important part of SWNZ certification is adhering to the approved sprays and requirements in the Schedule, ensuring market access. Bragato Research Winery works in conjunction with agrichemical and biological spray companies to make wine from grapes sprayed at different levels of new chemistry to test for residue, fermentation kinetics, aroma profile and colour. This essential information forms part of the requirements for inclusion of any new product into the Schedule. This presentation was at Grape Days Marlborough, 2024.
