I just couldn't bring myself to turn the outside of this badly weathered piece of, what I believe to be, Cherry. Even then, I couldn't get a full sized bowl from the piece due to its very odd shape. So, I think it will make a great candle holder or an even better holder for a live plant in a container. Along the way, I discovered my secret to a better, shinier shellac finish.
