#muslim #sunnah #prophet 📖 5-DAY SEMINAR | RAMADHAAN PREPARATION ✨ Umdatul Ahkaam || The Chapter of Fasting by Al Haafidh Abdul Ghani Al Maqdisi 📌 Schedule: • Sunday: Feb 1 • Saturday: Feb 7 & 14 • Sunday: Feb 8 & 15 (All sessions after Maghrib) 🎓 Taught by: Ustaadh Abu Abdil Maalik Abdul Haqq Video Summarized The video, "Umdatul Ahkaam || Intro To The Chapter of Fasting," introduces the book Umdatul Ahkaam and its author, Al Haafidh Abdul Ghani Al Maqdisi, along with the explanation of the book by Abdur-Rahman al-Bassam. The speaker highlights the following: Biography of Al Haafidh Abdul Ghani Al Maqdisi (1:21): Born in 541 Hijra, Al Maqdisi was known for his inclination towards hadith. He traveled extensively to seek knowledge, including trips to Baghdad and Egypt (5:03). He settled in Damascus, dedicating his life to teaching, authoring over 40 books, and worshipping Allah (17:12). He was praised by scholars for his remarkable memorization and was known as "the leader of the believers" in hadith (18:29). He was also characterized by his piety, devotion, and adherence to the path of the righteous predecessors, always enjoining good and forbidding evil, even in the face of adversity (23:17). Biography of Abdullah Ibn Abdir-Rahman Al-Bassam (47:50): A contemporary Najdi scholar and jurist, Al-Bassam came from a family known for their love of knowledge and charitable deeds (48:30). He studied under major scholars, including Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Kawi (50:41) and Abdur-Rahman Ibn Naasir As Sa'di for eight years (52:43), memorizing the Quran and numerous Islamic texts. He served in judicial capacities and was known for his clarity, eloquence, and strong legal reasoning, adhering strictly to textual evidence (53:55). His explanation of Umdatul Ahkaam is highly regarded and widely taught (54:41). Introduction to the Chapter of Fasting (55:53) Fasting, linguistically meaning to refrain or abstain, is defined Islamically as abstaining from things that break the fast with intention, from dawn till sunset (56:20). It is the third pillar of Islam and was made mandatory in the second year of the Hijra, having also been obligatory on previous nations (59:56). Fasting is considered among the best acts of worship, combining three types of patience: patience in obedience to Allah, patience in refraining from disobedience, and patience with difficult decrees (1:00:47). Allah attributes fasting to Himself and promises direct rewards for it, making it a profound act of submission and a means for individuals to realize their weakness before Allah (1:03:20).
