Labelling Fire Rated Penetration Seals - AS 4072.1 - Passive Fire Protection

AS 4072.1 specifies requirements for labelling and installing fire rated penetration seals and control joints. Each service penetration or control joint should be clearly labelled and marked with the following: a). Reference / specification of standard AS 4072.1 b). FRR c). Name and contact details of the installer d). Installation date e). A unique installation reference number f). Name and contact details of the manufacturer Penetration seals, materials and methods of installation must be identical to those of the prototype used in tests to establish their FRR. Penetration seals must have been tested for the type and size of the gap or penetration, and for the type of material and the fire separation construction type it is to be installed in. Fire test results for penetration seals, such as plastic pipe collars that have been tested in concrete, cannot be simply transferred to other types of construction, such as framed cavity construction lined with plasterboard.
