When you think about some of the best volume three point shooters of all time, the usual names that come to mind are guys like Stephen Curry and James Harden or earlier deadeyes like Ray Allen and Reggie Miller. But throughout the 90s there was a player who stood under 6 feet and was one of the best and most efficient shooters of the decade. Dana Barros truly was a human dynamo with elite athleticism; and while he could use this whenever he wanted to slice through the defense, his shot of choice came from beyond the arc as a career 41% three point shooter. He was a Boston College standout before joining the Seattle Supersonics at the same time as Shawn Kemp; yet would spend the majority of his time in Seattle backing up Gary Payton, but it was his two years in Philadelphia in the mid 90s where Barros showed how dangerous he could be, bringing a play style to the NBA, that was unheard of and unappreciated at the time, but would become the basis for the modern day game. Unfortunately, after an incredible 1995 season which saw him named an NBA All Star and the Most Improved Player, he would sign with the Boston Celtics who would turn over a new leaf with Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker during Barros’ time there, and in turn Dana Barros would quickly see his role decrease, before spending a couple years with Detroit then making a brief return to Boston. Dana Barros is unfortunately overlooked today, but he is one of the most underrated shooters of all time, and would have thrived had he not been about 20 years early to the NBA. https://www.basketball-reference.com/...
