525HP LS3, 6 speed Magnum trans, SS Chevelle Classic vibes, Modern performance. This GM Performance 525HP LS3 powered 1972 Chevy Chevelle was the last of this body style. Some say the last muscle car. Its original 350ci small block replaced with reliable smooth modern horsepower! One key to success with an automotive build is to start with good raw material, and this Chevelle was a stunning example we had in inventory, ready for a client to build. Once the Chevelle was had its turn thru ProtouringTexas.com. Our crew completely disassembled the drivetrain, suspension, interior, and wiring. Alot of fabrication and fitment went into the body before being handed off to complete the beautuful paint you see today. With all components removed, fabrication began with fitting the massive Tremec Magnum F series manual transmission into the Chevelle's transmission tunnel. No easy task, but well worth the effort. With the LS3/T56 combination fitted, a full compliment of suspension upgrades from Speedtech Performance were added, including double adjustable Viking shocks, fully boxed, braced, and stiffened numbers matching chassis were bolted to the body after a quick clean up under the car. This horsepower level requires the ability to slow everything down fast, that's why a set of Wilwood 6 piston caliper, 14 inch rotor stopping gear were used from Wilwood Brakes. With everything installed we could move to exhaust, Black heart headers was first on the list to find a set of high quality header for the LS3. They sent a perfect pair of headers, and we went to work modifying the mandrel bent stainless steel parts from Stainless Brothers to complete an exhaust worthy of an art show installation. Completing the drivetrain, we used a Chevrolet Performance accessory drive along with a wiring harness and flashed E38 factory pcm, from PSI Conversion. The interior of this Chevelle features a black color, including bucket seats and center console. Instrumentation from Dakota Digital fill in the factory sweep dash with modern technology and classic vibes. Fast ratio power steering, full custom Bluetooth audio, and air conditioning that's upgraded with a Sure-fit Vintage Air system and smooth firewall.
