I am autistic- what it’s like to be autistic in a neurotypical world | Tini Dudek | TEDxYouth@2SLO

I am autistic and I’m not the stereotypical 5-year-old boy. There are a lot of things that society still doesn’t know or understand - being autistic, especially as a biological female diagnosed a lot later than at 5 years old is one of them. I want people to realize that even daily tasks can be very difficult for me, and my speech will show you how my reality may differ from yours. Hi! I’m Tini, I go to Liceum w Chmurze and I attend an extra IGCSE course at The British Online School. I want to become a secondary school English and special educational needs teacher in the UK. As a person with special educational needs, I experienced a huge lack of empathy and knowledge in teachers' environments especially when it comes to neurodivergent students like me. I want to spread awareness about neurodiversity and help people like me later in life. Besides my studies I love reading Alice Oseman’s books, cuddles, listening to music, and drinking tea while lying under a weighted blanket :)) This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
