Civic FN2 Turbo First up apologies on recording all this in portrait and not landscape. It’s just the way it went this time. This car has come in running this way. I have not been involved in the tuning or previous build. The car was supposed to to be running 788hp in the current spec. It only runs around the 560hp mark ( plenty enough but I’m not here to tell people what to do ). Ed a long time customer purchased the car and as with all cars has had some issues, not just the disappointment of finding out it was way down on power. Moving on third gear in the gearbox shat itself so I had to rebuild the gearbox. The ecu runs ECUTEK software and has previously been tuned. All of the selectable maps are just changes in boost. The tune itself is consistent, map 1-2 have no knock but map 3 suffers from heavy knock. First up was sorting the old tired head management regarding the turbo. New PTFE AN lines for oil and water installed. Directing them away from the turbo, instead of touching it. Exhaust wrap doesn’t last well and instead of wrapping the exhaust this time I went for a heat shield covered in tekbofibra to try and reflect and contain the head to that area. Also putting a fold in it so it reduces the transfer of heat across the gearbox to the induction system. With all that done I ran it up to check for leaks. Next up was the setup of the Plex knock monitor v3 a good few power runs in low boost with no knock and then a couple in the high boost mode to confirm the threshold… All ready to get into the ECUTEC software on the next video.
