BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — The Goose Creek Police Department (GCPD) has a new position designed to help fight the opioid epidemic - a police assisted social worker. Rachel Urginovsky started the new role in June for the GCPD, who received 83 overdose calls and 172 narcotics calls in 2022. The position is a first for Lowcountry law enforcement.
