Ingredients: Chicken with bones 750gms 6 Shallots (small whole onions) 6 Potatoes (small whole/big 2 diced into quarters) 2 big Carrot orange/red chopped in chunks 1 tbsp Ginger mince 2 tbsp Garlic mince Garam Masalas (Dry Whole Spices): 2 Green elaichi 3-4 cloves 2 Bay leaves 1" Cinnamon 1 Black cardammom 1 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder 1 tbsp Corriandar powder 1/2 tbsp Black pepper powder 10-12 Black peppercorns Process : Add butter in a cooker Add sabut garm masalas Let it splutter Add minced garlic and saute After you get the aroma, add minced ginger and garlic Saute till raw smell goes away Now add 3 chopped onions Saute till translucent Add chicken pieces marinated for 40min with salt and a bit black papper. Fry now till chicken get light brown spots. One by one add potatoes, carrot Fry for some more time Add small whole onions Salt, red chilli can be added now Keep stirring and mixing on medium flame 5 tomatoes chopped add Cover lid and cook. Keep stirring. Note in the steam tomatoes will soften. Mash them Now add black pepper 3/4th tsp Mix well Add 2 cups water(depends on how much gravy you want) Check salt, and add 1-2tsp sugar(optional) Now close cooker's lid 2 whistles on full flame then simmer for 3 minuts. Put off the gas flame Let it sit till cooker handle easily opens. Serve with toasted breads or fresh steamed rice. Of course accompanied with salad. #cooking #food #recipe #chicken #winterfood
