LANE KEEPING ASSIST, or LKA, is designed to help keep the vehicle in its lane by detecting lane markers on the road and providing an audible warning and steering wheel vibration. LKA displays a Lane Departure Warning on the Instrument Cluster when the vehicle leaves the lane without activating a turn signal. And may also assist with steering to prevent the vehicle from departing the lane. To ENABLE LKA press and HOLD the LANE DRIVING ASSIST button on the steering wheel. A gray LKA Indicator will initially appear on the Instrument Cluster. It will illuminate white when traveling slower than 40 miles per hour, or when LKA does not detect lane markers. When LKA detects the lane markers and can provide steering assistance, the LKA Indicator will illuminate green. LKA will not issue a warning if the turn signals or hazard lights are activated. LKA can also be enabled by going to the VEHICLE SETTINGS in the Infotainment System. Press SETUP, select VEHICLE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, then under DRIVING SAFETY, select LANE SAFETY. To turn OFF LKA, press and hold the LANE SAFETY DRIVING ASSIST button on the Steering Wheel. To adjust the WARNING METHOD settings for driver assistance systems, under DRIVER ASSISTANCE, select the speaker icon or WARNING METHOD. Here you can change the Warning Volume, which will change the volume for other driver assistance systems as well. Selecting “Haptic Warning” activates the steering wheel vibration warning on certain driver assistance systems. “Lane Safety Audible Warning Off” turns off the audible warning for Lane Safety features. “Driving Safety Priority” lowers all other audio volume when the Driving Safety system sounds a warning. Parking Safety Priority lowers all other audio volume when the Parking Assist view is active. For additional information, refer to your Owner’s Manual.
